eFACiLiTY® now integrates with IoT Smart Buttons for One-Touch Facility Management

Coimbatore, Feb 2019: SIERRA has integrated its eFACiLiTY® software with Smart IOT (Internet of Things) Buttons for One-touch Facility Management. The Smart IoT Buttons are installed at SIERRA's eFACiLiTY® Building, for one-touch recording of call requests, reporting problems, raising complaints, raise work orders etc. These switches are also integrated with the Building Automation System (BMS/BAS) for controlling lights, air conditioners, motors, sprinklers and various other devices in the facility.

INTERNET OF THINGS - IoT, is a system of interconnected computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, that are provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) having the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human or computer interaction. IoT consists of web-enabled devices that collect, send and act on data they acquire from their surrounding environments using embedded sensors, processors and communication hardware. The main purpose of IoT devices is to generate real-time data, that we can then analyse and use to create desired business outcomes. The IoT device is connected to the IP Network or to Ethernet(wired/wireless) and communicates through the local server. They communicate data to devices that are able to process the data and trigger/facilitate actions.

SMART BUTTON - IoT Button, is a programmable button. This simple Wi-Fi or Bluetooth device is easy to configure and designed for developers to integrate without Web Services without writing device-specific code. We can code the button's logic in the cloud to configure button clicks to count or track items, call or alert someone, start or stop something, order services, or even provide feedback. Buttons have three type of actions: single-click, double-click and press-and-hold. Each type of action can be set to perform a different action, and can also perform multiple actions. IoT buttons single-click, double-click, or long-press are coded and based on the software function, they are used to connect to IoT-powered connected things. Water leak sensors notify, if there is a leak or flooding in any area. The sensor easily connects to the hub and will notify if moisture or water is leaking nearby and stops the motor.

In SIERRA's eFACiLiTY® Building, the world's 2nd Greenest Building which is also one of the smartest buildings in the world, IoT Buttons are used in the following areas,

- For one-touch reporting when it is too-cold or too-warm
Director/Manager Cabins (Equipment Control)
- Smart control of lighting, air-conditioning and window blinds
Conference/Training Rooms (Room Booking, Extend/End Meeting, Equipment Control…etc.)
- One-touch Room Booking
Toilets (For requesting cleaning)
- One-touch cleaning request to housekeeping
Reception (For alerting HR/SS Teams, Ordering the Stationery Items)
- One-touch ordering of printer stationary, One-touch alerting of HR / System Support teams for any urgent needs
Outdoors (To know about the Solar generations, Operating the sprinklers, Waste Pick up generations) etc.,
- Solar Power generation status
- Waste pickup Work Orders to Vendor

It is intergrated with the eFACiLiTY® software and is used extensively in all areas. SIERRA also has capability to integrate all types of IoT buttons available in the market with software and provide solutions for any requirements.

IoT Switch is just a button. But with it's building automation/integration expertise and ingenuity, SIERRA has transformed the same into an Intelligent Button that can deliver "Functional Intelligence". Whether we are using it or gifting it, there are many possibilities in using this button.
